Project Description
As a Publication Design Intern, Shubhika was part of the Exhibition Design and Production team and her contribution included various print and digital deliverables for Science Gallery Bengaluru’s sixth exhibition-season CARBON. She designed and executed the exhibition pamphlet for visitors in English and Kannada. The map format is highly appreciated by the visitors and the dynamic design was used for the Sci560 and CALORIE exhibition-seasons. Shubhika also worked with the CARBON Mediator Team to design the Activity Handbook for young adults.
She also produced works for the exhibits on display and other creative deliverables like maps and brochures to make the building a more welcoming and accessible space.

Designer
Shubhika Malara nurtures her growing interest in education, heritage, public spaces and effective communication strategies. With over 4 years of professional experience as an artist, designer and educator, she intends to advocate good design and designing for good! She has studied Graphic Design at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad (2021-24) and Public Space Design at Srishti (2013-17) with an exchange semester at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston, USA. A hobbyist at heart, she loves journaling, spending time in nature, and often collects tiny objects as memorabilia.
Shubhika Malara is a designer, artist, with interest in education, learning, public spaces, heritage, and meaningful communication. Her background in Graphic Design from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and Public Space Design from Srishti, brings a thoughtful, purpose-driven approach to her work.
Outside the studio, she enjoys journaling, spending time in nature, and collecting small objects that holds memories.
