EXHIBITION THEMES

MILITARY Bengaluru has a long history of conflict, giving rise to some of the most advanced military systems in colonial India. The barracks, sappers, and the weapons developed here were not merely tools of war but creating means of a city to be built.

INDUSTRIAL Watches, telephones, aircrafts, and voting machines–as a city, Bengaluru’s industrial scene was one of the most important spaces in early independent India. The exhibits explore how the earliest days of Bengaluru’s factories paved the way for technological innovations.

ACADEMIC For a century, Bengaluru’s laboratories and universities have been exploring the unexplored. When looked closely, the city reveals a story of how curiosity, innovation and rigour for research gave rise to some of the country’s premier research institutions.
