Hot off the Press: Journalism during the Climate Crisis

How do journalists report on the environment and climate today? What are some of the threats, challenges, and opportunities they encounter? And what is the state of climate journalism in India? Addressing these questions, journalist Sibi Arasu shared his decade-long experience of reporting on the climate.


About the Journalist

Sibi Arasu reports on Climate Change and Environmental issues for the Associated Press.

Based in Bengaluru, he has covered climate and environmental issues for several years, both as a reporter for Indian newspapers and many international outlets, including the BBC and the National Geographic, as a freelancer. He has written extensively about several facets of the larger climate story and has won multiple awards for his journalism, including the United Nations Correspondent Award, 2021 and the Indian environment journalist of the year award, 2018 by the Prem Bhatia Foundation.
