Design Intern (Audio-Visual Communication)

Job Summary

As the Design Intern (Audio-Visual Communications), you will support the documentation and editing of audio, video, and photographic content for Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB). Your role will involve assisting in the conceptualisation, production, post-production, and editing of multimedia content.

You will work closely with the Communications, Programmes, and Learning teams to generate content related to both online and in-person exhibitions and programmes, in line with the visual language of Science Gallery Bengaluru.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Communications and Programmes teams, the Design Intern will assist with the following:

● Editing of video and photo content for Science Gallery Bengaluru’s exhibitions and programmes

● Script, assemble, and edit video projects using new and archived footage

● Collate and creatively repurpose existing multimedia assets from past exhibitions and programmes

● Support video/photo documentation as needed, including filming when required

● Coordinate and manage external photographers, videographers, and production houses

● Contribute to SGB’s audio-visual programming and content strategy

Person Specifications

● Strong editing skills; working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or other equivalent editing software is essential

● Proficiency in operating photo and video equipment, lights, and accessories (e.g., gimbals)

● Familiarity with organising and managing large multimedia archives

● Interest in science, technology, and arts/culture spaces

● Excellent storytelling, communication skills, and attention to detail aligned with SGB’s ethos

● Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

● Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) desirable

● Experience working with a production house is an advantage — this role prioritises editing but requires capability in documentation as well

Work Hours Wednesday to Sunday; we are a small team of an institution in the establishment phase and therefore looking for people who are able to work flexibly. Late-nights, holiday and weekend work may be required.
