NAMMA OOTA 2024

Food systems around the world generate more waste than most industries combined, demanding a shift in how we think about the design of these systems — from source to consumption and decomposition. The festival invited visitors and facilitated conversations and collaborations between stakeholders across the ecosystem. Themes explored included Carbon and Farming, Carbon and Cooking, and Carbon and Lifestyle. Participating brands and organisations created a farmer’s market-like ambience, encouraging visitors of all ages to engage with the themes and reflect on their patterns of consumption.
Namma Oota was not just a food festival; it was a platform to start meaningful conversations and forge connections. It offered an opportunity to delve deeper into the science behind what we eat. From the soil to our tables, every step of the journey was tied to the story of carbon. The festival spotlighted innovative organisations in and around Bengaluru that are shaping a more sustainable food future—where science, culture, and culinary arts unite.
The festival was curated collaboratively with Functional Nutrition Coach, Chef, and creative professional Nayantara Bagla, who has worked closely with various small businesses in the food industry. Her passion for creating experiences around food that are good for both people and the planet brought a thoughtful and impactful layer to the festival’s vision.
