India’s only. Asia’s first.
A public institution at the intersection of science, art and society. Free and open to all.
We at Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB) are a not-for-profit public institution for research-based engagement. We work across the human, natural, and social sciences, and engineering, art, and design.
Our primary audience is between the ages of 15 and 30, a demographic that makes up more than half of India's population, and one that too rarely finds public spaces to meet their intellectual curiosity on its own terms. Every year, we create an exhibition-season—a year-long research festival anchored by a theme and explored across disciplines—alongside a full roster of public programming and mentorship initiatives.
As a new kind of public space for open-ended exploration, our motto is “Science, Culture, Experiment”.
HOW WE WORK
Our Theory of Change
Our work is organised around a single long-term goal: to bring science back into culture. This is driven by three interconnected pillars, each with a clear institutional purpose and a set of outcomes we are working toward.
