Creating Clouds
This workshop was conducted offsite at the laboratory of distinguished scientist Roddam Narasimha in Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research. The session was led by Roddam Narasimha himself and his colleague Vybhav G R. Participants got an opportunity to see how clouds are simulated and studied in a laboratory environment. Participants also got the opportunity to experience the formation of clouds in a chamber.
About the Fluid dynamicist
Roddam Narasimha is the Chairman of the Engineering Mechanics Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research and the Director of National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. He has been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, in 2013.
Narasimha is an Indian aerospace scientist and fluid dynamicist. He was formerly a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Director of National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) and the Chairman of Engineering Mechanics Unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR). He is presently an Honorary Professor at JNCASR and concurrently holds the Pratt & Whitney Chair in Science and Engineering at the University of Hyderabad. He has been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, in 2013.
