Towards a Museum In Psychiatry

This lecture focused on some central themes in the new direction of the Museum Dr. Guislain. From a focus on collection and preservation of western psychiatric heritage, the museum is more and more standing as an activistic museum in line with Museum Activism of Richard Sandell (Leicester University, UK) and the Participatory museum of Nina Simon. What is the influence of community, groups with special needs and the voice of people with lived experience?

Revisit the lecture to explore the new advances in the international world of museums, and see how museums can evolve to become a safe space where personal subjects and lived experience is honoured.
