Media and Communications Intern

The Media and Communications intern would be responsible for handling SGB’s social media presence online. The role requires an understanding of adapting to changing algorithms online, working with the news development cycle, and being able to communicate to a young adult audience, aged 18 to 30. 

Key Responsibilities:

- A love and flair for social media, ideally a high personal use. The candidate likely uses social media on a daily basis to keep informed.

-Ability to plan social media calendars and write short-form content.

- Ability to create quick, snappy reels for a young adult audience, ideally with experience editing reels on the phone

- An artistic eye and a love for mobile photography for Instagram Stories, etc. 

- An interest in representing the institute SGB on social media public interactions/comments and act as a bridge for public communication with the institution

- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams, like Programmes, Design, and Video teams, for social media productions 

- Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Twitter/X, Linked In, Facebook, Buffer, and others  

Qualifications:

- Demonstrable experience in social media content creation and video editing


Nature of Employment 6 months - Internship

Reporting to Media and Communications Associate

Location Science Gallery Bengaluru, Bellary Road (next to IVRI)

Work Hours Wednesday to Sunday; we are a small team of an institution in the establishment phase and therefore looking for people who are able to work flexibly. Late-nights, holiday and weekend work may be required.
