CARBON Mediators

Mediators are an integral part of each exhibition-season at Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB). By providing each visitor the unique opportunity to deeply engage with our exhibits, events, and programmes, the mediators are at the backbone of our commitment to public engagement at SGB.

Having undergone intensive training from a range of artists and scholars each exhibition-season, the mediators are positioned to help each visitor establish a personal relationship with the different themes of the exhibition. This year, for our exhibition-season CARBON, we have a diverse group of mediators who are part of SGB full-time, as well as part-time. Come say hi!

Anoosha Chandrashekar

Anoosha, armed with a BSc Honours degree in Physics, emerges as a passionate advocate for environmental conservation. Her Honours thesis was Triboelectricity in Plants: A Study of the Potential for Energy Harvesting from Plants. Inspired by cycling and the companionship of her furry friends, she strives to make a positive impact on our planet. Her academic background instils a deep appreciation for scientific research, driving her to explore sustainable solutions and contribute to a greener future.

Bhavitraa Thilagar

Bhavitraa is an Information Designer and an aspirational writer. She is a curious learner searching for the why in the what, on a perpetual quest for more knowledge and ways to explore and experience all that life has to offer. On her way to become a jack of all trades, her interests cover everything under the sun and beyond. She loves a good challenge, so she misguidedly debates her family on religion and gender (whenever she has the energy that is).

Divya Jajali

Divya Jajali, an enthusiastic learner of science and education. She finished her bachelors in Physics at Azim Premji University. She's eager to gain hands-on experience and expand her knowledge. With a background in volunteering at a science centre, being a part of field immersions in government schools, and interning in a physics lab, Divya is very curious in exploring the fascinating world of science and education. She has a flair for artsy stuff like silhouette art and Zentangle. Not to mention, she's a martial arts enthusiast!

Jagath V

Jagath is a biologist by training with an interest in research, science engagement and writing. He's a Bengaluru huduga and an alumnus of MSU, Baroda and NCBS, Bengaluru. He's always up for language exchange and wandering around urban spaces. He is happiest when he feels connected to nature and is especially calmed by mountains and bodies of water. You will often find him looking down, admiring mosses and cool rocks. He is proudly queer and survives on Thai food, memes and vibes.

Risha

Fascinated by the natural world, Risha’s interests include biology, ecological justice, education and anything that allows them to go out near trees or water. Lost most of the time and confused about everything. I also have a mint plant named Charlie! (Used to. RIP Charlie.)

Sanjana Hegde

Sanjana Hegde is an aspiring biologist and is intrigued by conflicts in biological systems and how the arms race leads to evolutionary changes. She holds a master’s degree in biotechnology from the University of Mysore. Outside of her scientific pursuits, she enjoys math rock, fantasy books, and cooking delightfully messy dinners. She is currently learning hindustani classical music and yoga. You would find her in the company of her adorable cat, Korra.

Vedika Kalra

Vedika completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Ashoka University. She is fascinated by microscopic organisms and the role they play in larger contexts of environmental and public health. Her undergraduate thesis was on host-pathogen interactions in the intestinal niche. When she’s not dancing to imaginary music, you can find her exploring the city through Google maps or visiting a lake. Give her some dessert and she will be your friend.

Harsha Jagadeesh

Harsha Jagadeesh is a graduate with a BS-MS Dual Degree, specialising in biology. She finds great fascination in the intricate behavioural patterns and dynamics that exist in our surroundings. In addition to her love for biology, she is often found in spirited discussions about politics and feminism, expressing her strong opinions and perspectives. Though mostly lost in her own thoughts she can be brought back to reality any moment with mention of food.

Ann Lucy Abraham

Ann Lucy Abraham is an undergraduate from the Srishti Institute of Art and Design, Bangalore. She has a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, specialising in Digital Media Arts. Ann has experimented with various mediums and is passionate about storytelling, writing, poetry, film and performance art. She enjoys music, being outdoors and being close to greenery and animals.

Parvathy P Sekhar

Parvathy finished her Bachelors and Masters in Physics from IISER Bhopal. Driven by the idea “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts', her research focused on understanding the dynamics and properties emerging from interacting quantum systems. When not staring at airplanes in the sky, she likes learning about their technicalities from aircraft investigation videos. From playing Basketball and practising Classical dance to escaping to the mountains for a trek, she’s always on the move.
