- Zeina, Visitor to PSYCHE at The Wellbeing Summit
The Wellbeing Summit for Social Change took place from 01 June to 03 June 2022 in Bilbao-Biscay, Spain, and was the first event bringing together social change, governmental, arts and business leaders from around the world to advance individual and collective wellbeing for those working on the front lines of social change.
The Summit consisted of three days of talks, panel discussions and interactive workshops with more than 60 renowned cultural, scientific, governmental and social change leaders from around the world. The neuroscience of wellbeing, environmental belonging, intergenerational trauma were some of the key themes covered. The Summit also invited artists from across the world to reflect upon mental health and wellbeing, and to then represent it in galleries, parks, and public museums.
We showcased five exhibits from PSYCHE at The Wellbeing Summit. PSYCHE, at its core, attempted to understand the complexities of the mind and brain. To facilitate conversations around wellbeing, we unpacked ongoing research that is feeding into critical discourses on mental health. The specific exhibits looked at the mind through a host of lenses—scientific research, lived experience, history, and language. By dwelling on the intricacies of the mind, we were able to approach wellbeing armed with knowledge, empathy, and critical thinking.
With over 100 visitors across three days, we had the opportunity to take PSYCHE into the physical space, finding a new, enthusiastic, and global audience for this exhibition-season.
