FEEDBACK
More than 2200 visitors experienced our first pop-up exhibition. Our target audience were young adults in the age group of 15 to 28 years. Around 40% of our visitors were young adults. Furthermore, over 500 young adults participated in the programmes at the exhibition.
Here’s what our visitors had to say about our exhibits -
“There were so many new elements that I never knew existed. Now I am excited to explore the larger world of chemistry.”
- Visitor, on ELEMENTS
“It was eye opening for me as to how Chemistry pervades every aspect of our life.”
- Visitor, on ELEMENTS
“It was cool to see how once could bring objects from their own home and contribute to the exhibit by building on it.”
- Visitor, on ELEMENTS
“It was very interesting to learn about the history of the periodic table.”
- Visitor, on ELEMENTS
Here’s what our visitors and experts had to say about our programmes -
“Talking about the periodic table at ‘Elements’ made me think more deeply about the effort and concepts that have gone into coming up with a table that is easy to navigate, yet succeeds in the important task of capturing the relations between elements.”
- Shobhana Narasimhan, theoretical scientist
“It was interesting to see how one can approach cooking through a scientific lens. To know how food items pair well with each other based on the elemental composition and its position in the periodic table. Overall it was a great experience and I’m looking forward to more such events.”
- Participant at Edible Elements
“The programme (Edible Elements) has given me an excuse to eat more cheese and chocolate! I learnt that cheese contains Zinc and chocolate contains Nickel, which is absolutely essential for our bodies to function properly.”
- Participant on Edible Elements
“The programme helped me make surprising and unexpected connections between food and the elements and their impact on our bodies. It made me curious about other foods and I will be more aware of what I eat.”
- Participant on ‘Edible Elements’
Here’s what our mediators had to say about their experience -
“The mediator experience helped me believe in myself and taught me how to be confident during difficult times”
- Manish Jayashekhar, mediator
“As a mediator we are able to think about science through cultural, social, economic and political prisms. It is an excellent opportunity to learn new things which we do not usually encounter in our college curriculum”
- Akif Khan, mediator
“Showing the visitors even a simple experiment like Electrolysis and seeing the joy on their faces was very exciting.”
- Aditya, mediator
“I have learnt how to take science outside the elite private institutions to the public masses, and this has been a great learning experience”
- Misha Gupta, mediator
