We participated in the Clean Air Street Initiative of the Directorate of Urban and Land Transport (DULT) by producing an interactive game — The Search. Backed by Catapult UK, the Clean Air Street Initiative was launched by DULT to transform Church Street into a vehicle-free zone. The initiative aimed to transform the commercial area into a citizen-centric street  that encourages sustainable behaviour. 

The interactive game encouraged pedestrians to walk through Church Street, explore it, and to think critically about sustainable choices in mobility and transportation. Ten real-world locations served as points of engagement, and each highlighted how the quality of our air impacts the quality of our lives. 

Pedestrians played the game on their mobile phones and unlocked new content at each of the ten locations.


Get Started

This level explored how non-motorised transport such as walking and cycling can help cut down one’s carbon footprint. It unpacked how pedestrianisation encourages city dwellers to walk short distances instead of using private transport.


Take a Ride

This level shed light on how using public transport such as buses or the Metro hold the key to sustainable futures. It highlighted the decrease in traffic congestion and improvement in air quality connected with citizens opting to using public transport.


Pedal Ahead

This level explored the cycle to work campaign and the benefits of cycling for both one’s health and the environment. It also highlighted the efforts of government bodies such as the Directorate of Urban Land Transport in creating greener cities by building cycling lanes.


Be A Hero

This level delved into the weird and wonderful world of pop culture. Exploring how pop culture can influence ideas of sustainability, this level highlighted popular comic book characters such as Planet Earth and Poison Ivy have instilled ideas of environmentalism and sustainability in young viewers across the world.


Turn A Page

This level invited players to learn about literature around sustainability in local bookstores, including climate fiction and environmental themed comics. It also highlighted the role of bookstores as spaces of knowledge and imagination that promote radical ways of reimagining a greener future.


Strike A Chord

This level explored counter-cultural movements musicians have been an integral part of the environmental movement. It examined how musicians, poets, and performers have used the medium of music to spread the message of sustainability.


Take A Whiff

This level explored how air quality impacts olfaction. It highlighted how exposure to airborne pollutants can impair one’s olfaction, and why its important to tackle air pollution on the ground level before it negatively impacts one’s quality of life.


Take A Note

This level examined why it is important to collect and monitor data connected air quality. It encouraged players to understand air quality values,
